August 24-27, 2017 (Thursday – Sunday)
Midland Texas at the Horseshoe Arena
July 24- August 4, 2017
*Dates subject to Change or Cancellation
It is a D6 4-H Contest based on the current 2016-17 age divisions. Registration will be taking place through 4-H Connect during the timeframe of July 24 – Aug. 4. Entry fee of $10 for first photo, and $5 per each additional photo.
Entries will be judged prior to being displayed. All entries must be turned in to the D6 Extension Office by 5:00 p.m. on August 7th.
Photo pickup will be onsite at the Midland County Horseshoe Pavilion on Sunday, August 27th between 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Don’t forget that the visible print must be 8″ x 10″ in size and can be either portrait or landscape layout. Entries must be framed, under glass and equipped with SCREW EYES AND WIRE HANGERS. Overall frame size must not exceed 18×22 inches. Entries not equipped properly will not be accepted. Each photo must be labeled using the attached D6 4-H Photography Contest Label. The label should be taped on the back-side and center of the photo. This is a great opportunity to teach youth framing techniques! By properly framing the entries, they will be eligible to enter into other Creative Arts contests, such as the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo. They will be ready to be displayed in the home, or given as a gift. Plus, framing keeps the photos protected and helps with display to the public.
Please read the entire 2017 D6 4-H Photography Rules and Guidelines so you can be informed, and share this information with your county 4-H audience.
This is a district-level competition only. Entry in this contest does not qualify a 4-Her for the state contest that takes place in conjunction with Texas 4-H Roundup.
